In this worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, it is hard to tackle the everyday situation. At this time, the WHO is tracking the pandemic and trying to find a way to fight this situation. So, we have to protect ourselves and fight against the cope of this coronavirus. The best way to combat this pandemic is to be cautious and not let the virus spread rapidly. 

With children and older people at everyone’s home, the situation intrigues panic. However, it will only make the situation worse.

Do not let fear take the best of you. Be conscious of your surroundings and follow these few tips to fight against coronavirus and stay healthy.

1. Clean your Hands & Disinfect your Belongings:

Hands are one of the organs we use most. Viruses can come to you from other people when

  • When you touch your face with unclean hands.
  • Make food and eat without washing your hands 
  • Get in contact with contaminated objects and more.

Washing your hands with soap or hand wash regularly can prevent the spread of germs to fight this pandemic. 

Do not touch your face:

Viruses can enter your body through your nose, eyes and mouth. So, do not touch your face unnecessarily.

These are some of the following when you should wash your hands to prevent the spreading of germs: 

  • When preparing food
  • Before eating food
  • Always clean your hands after visiting a sick person
  • After using the toilet
  • After blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing, and more.

Sanitize Your Belongings: 

The things you use regularly have higher chances of transmitting diseases. Studies say that certain viruses can live on plastic surfaces for a longer time. 

We use phones and computers all the time. We often touch them with our dirty hands but forget to clean them properly. Using alcohol-based disinfectant is an effective way to clean your regular use objects. However, do not forget to sanitize your keys, backpacks, wallet, etc.

2. Maintain a Healthy Diet:

In this pandemic, your immune system might have to fight against coronavirus. So, try to maintain a healthy diet:

  • Eat nourishing meals, rich in lean protein, and whole grains.
  • Eat a variety of seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables.
  • Avoid taking things such as sugar, caffeine, and alcohol.

3. Wear a Mask and Other Protection Gears:

Coronavirus transmits through breathing in air contaminated by droplets and airborne particles. The risk is higher when people are near or indoors.

Covering your face can limit the volume and travel distance of these droplets.

Using masks, hand gloves, and face shields can reduce the chances of infection. If you work in the medical sector, face shields and hand gloves are necessary for you. 

4. Get a vaccine to fight the pandemic:

Vaccines are a safe and effective way to reduce the risk of contract viruses.

How do they work:

Vaccines contain inactive or weak parts of an antigen that helps to prepare the immune system. 

So vaccination will help defeat the effect of viruses if the body gets exposed to the germs.

Effects after getting a vaccine:

Some people may experience common and minor side effects like headache, muscle pain, fever or more.

However, it is normal to experience some of the side effects.

Covid 19 vaccine can reduce the effect of the virus. So, do not avoid taking a vaccine.

5. Avoid public gathering:

Covid 19 virus can spread easily indoors, without proper ventilation setting. In gatherings or events, the chance of spreading the disease increases. 

However, following these tips and taking proper measures, you can reduce the risk and fight against the coronavirus. If you have an event you must attend, then obey proper protocol to maintain your safety:

  • keep at least a 1-meter diastance from others
  • wear a mask
  • cover coughs and sneezes with bent elbow or tissues, and  
  • clean your hands frequently.

The pandemic has made our life miserable. Many people have lost their loved ones. However, following these tips and covid protocols properly will help you fight against coronavirus. Stay alert and If you have a fever, cough, or difficulty in breathing, seek medical attention. 

Nothing lasts forever. Eventually, this situation will also come to an end. So, do not let anxiety ruin your life and be strong.
