1. Jab We Met

Jab we met, this movie of 2007, is one of the best romantic movies of Bollywood. Directed by Imtiaz Ali, the film became a hit at the Indian box office as well as overseas. The main leads of the film are Kareena Kapoor and Saheed Kapoor.

The story begins with Aditya, aka Saheed Kapoor going on with a life crisis. To relieve some stress, he started traveling. Somehow he ended up meeting with a troublemaker Geet, aka Kareena Kapoor. Thus his life took an unexpected turn.

2. Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam

Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam is a classic romantic drama of Bollywood. This 1999 film, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, was a box-office hit. The film starring Ajay Devgan, Salman Khan, and Aishwarya Rai is a love triangle of these three people.

Nandini, aka Aishwarya Rai, is a daughter of a famous household of classical singers. She met Sameer, aka Salman Khan, who came to learn music from her father. They both fell for each other. However, after learning the truth, Nandini’s father drove away Sameer. Like most Indian families, Nandini’s father then married his daughter to a lawyer Vanraj, aka Ajay Devgan. After knowing the truth, Vanraj set his mind to help Nandini and Sameer get together.

3. Veer-Zaara

The movie Veer-Zaara is an example of an epic love story. Directed by Yash Chopra, this 2004 film was the highest-grossing Indian film of the year in both India and overseas territories. The onscreen chemistry between Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta has touched the souls of millions. 

Air Force officer Veer Pratap Singh, aka Shah Rukh Khan, rescued Zaara Hayaat Khan, aka Preity Zinta. Love blossomed between them, but the problem was Zaara was Pakistani while Veer was Indian. The story is about two people loving each other so much that they sacrificed their two decades of life.

4. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is one of the finest romantic-comedy films of Bollywood. Directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Karan Johar, the stars of the film are Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone.

Naina, aka Deepika, met Kabir, aka Ranbir Kapoor, during a trip to Manali. As they spent time together, Nazina fell for him. However, she could not express it as Kabir got a scholarship to study abroad. A few years later, they met each other at their friend’s wedding.

5. Mohabbatein

This romantic drama Mohabbatein, starring  Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Uday Chopra, Shamita Shetty, and others, was a great success at the box office.

Music teacher Raj (Sharukh Khan) started a war against the strict rules of Narayan Shankar, aka Amitabh Bachchan. The story revolves around how Raj helps his students to achieve their love.

6. Humko Deewana Kar gaye

The 2006 film, Humko Deewana Kar Gaye, directed by Raj Kanwar, is one of the best romantic movies of Bollywood. The movie has some veteran actors, including  Anil Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, and Bipasha Basu.

Engineer Aditya aka Akshay Kumar, met Jia (Katrina Kaif) when he visited Canada for training. They started having feelings for each other. However, both Aditya and Jia had fiances. 

7. Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) is one of the best romantic movies in Bollywood. Starring the fan-favorite pair Shahrukh Khan and Kajol, the movie of Aditya Chopra was a super hit at the box office.

Raj, aka Sharukh Khan, and Simran, aka Kajol, met each other on a trip to Europe. The two started having feelings for each other, but Simran was going to get married once she returned from the trip. Raj decided to go to India to fight for their love.

8. Life in a… Metro

Directed by Anurag Basu, Life in a… Metro was a huge sensation at the theaters. The cast of the film is Dharmendra, Nafisa Ali, Irrfan Khan, Shilpa Shetty, Shiney Ahuja, Kay Kay Menon, Kangana Ranaut, Sharman Joshi, and Konkona Sen Sharma.

The movie describes the lives of these people living in Mumbai. The film shows us sensitive topics like extramarital affairs, the sanctity of marriage, and love. 

9. Raanjhanaa 

If you love tragic love stories, be ready with a pack of tissues. Ranjhana is one of the best-written films of Bollywood. Starring Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor, this movie of Aanand L. Rai was a Box-Office hit.

Kundan (Dhanush), son of a Hindu Pundit, fell for a girl at first sight. Even though the girl Zoya aka Sonam Kapoor, was not interested, Kundan was still in love with her. 

10. Jaane Tu… Ya Jane Na

Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na is a 2008 romantic comedy film. The producer of the movie is Mansoor Khan and Aamir Khan, starring Imran Khan and Genelia D’Souza.

Jay and Aditi, aka Imran Khan and Genelia D’Souza, are best friends. However, all of their friends and family think they are in love. To prove them wrong, Jay and Aditi decide to find each other’s partners.
