2. In the Mood for Love (2000)

Directed by Wong Kar-wai, In the Mood for Love is one of the best romantic movies at the beginning of the 21st century. In 1962Journalist Chow Mo-wan moved to Hong Kong with his wife. Being his wife away most of the time, he got acquainted with a woman Su Li-Zhen with a similar situation. Understanding each other’s loneliness, the two developed a friendship. Nonetheless, not long after, they found their spouses cheating on them. While supporting each other, they fell in love.

3. La La Land (2016)

Cast: Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling, J.K. Simmons, John Legend, and others.


Directed by Damien Chazelle, La La Land is not a typical rom-com you watch. The music, plot, and screenplay make it different than other movies. The film portrays the relationship of two people following their passion. Pianist Sebastian meets struggling actress Mia. After spending time together, they fell in love. However, as they started achieving their goals, the relationship became fragile.  

4. Titanic (1997)

Cast: Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, Jack Dawson, Rose Dewitt Bukater, Billy Zane, and others.


This epic movie of all times, Titanic, does not need an introduction. Based on the true story of the maritime tragedy in 1912, Titanic mainly focuses on the love story of Jack and Rose. Rose DeWitt Bukater, a 17-year-old girl, rode the ill-fated ship with her mother and finance. Unable to handle her lifestyle, she tried to take her life. That is when she met Jack and became enchanted with his lifestyle.

5. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)

Released in 2004, the Notebook is one of the classic romantic movies of all time. The movie portrays the love story of two people. A poor mill worker Noah Calhoun first met heiress Allison Hamilton on Seabrook Island in 1940. Their teenage romance blossomed, but her parents did not accept him. Their relationship ended as Noah went to serve in World War II. Allie also fell in love with another man. Years later, when Noah returned, their old flame started to burn again.

7. Before Sunrise (2004)

Cast: Ethan Hawke, Julie Delpy, Andrea Eckert, Hanno Pöschl, and others. 


Some people just suddenly come into your life and take a permanent place in your heart. The movie by Richard Linklater, Before Sunrise, features something like that. During a train ride to Vienna, Jesse and American met a French woman Celine. After having a few exchanges, they felt a connection between them. However, as the night ends, the two drift apart.

The movie also has two sequels, Before Sunset and Before Midnight. 

8. Pride & Prejudice (2005)
