At a distance of 2 km from Ujjain Junction, Gopal Mandir is a Hindu temple located in the holy city of Ujjain. This huge temple is situated in the middle of Bada Bazar Chowk. It was built in the 19th century by Baijibai Shinde, the queen of Maharaja Daulat Rao Shinde. It is a beautiful example of Maratha architecture. The grabh grah is inlaid with marble and the doors are plated with silver. The Dwarkadhish Gopal Mandir is said to be about two hundred years old. Exhibiting a brilliant specimen of Maratha architecture, the temple is a marble-towered structure.
